Elise Mertens has switched to Babolat racquets. She will be using the Babolat Pure Aero racquets. She was previously using Head Speed racquets. Mertens had been testing the Pure Aero racquet for several months with a paint job that made it look like a Head racquet.
Players are reluctant to change racquets because racquet changes impact their game. Many players use their old racquets with paint jobs when they switch sponsors. But Mertens appears the actual Babolat Pure Aero racquet.
Elise Mertens plays singles and doubles on the tour. She has lifted doubles trophies at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and at the US Open. Her best doubles result at the French Open was reaching the semifinals in 2019. In singles, her best result came at the 2018 Australian Open where she reached the semifinals.
