Denis Shapovalov was born in Tel-Aviv when his mother lived there briefly.  His parents moved to Canada when he was 9 months old.  Nicknamed “Shapo”, he was introduced to tennis by his mom.

Shapovalov’s best grand slam result came at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships where he reached the semifinals. He has also reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and the US Open.

As a junior, Shapovalov 2016 Wimbledon boys’ singles title. His mom Tessa is a former professional tennis player. She is a tennis coach and runs a tennis academy in Vaughan, Canada. 

Shapovalov has an interest in music. In 2019, he debuted a rap song at the Indian Wells Masters. Though the song received mixed reviews, Shapovalov continued producing music.

His signature shot on the tennis court is the jumping one-handed backhand. Shapovalov’s idol growing up was Roger Federer. He is a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Toronto Raptors (NBA). His sponsors are Nike, Yonex, TAG Heuer, Biosteel, SpiderTech, and Brüst. He has earned over $12 million in his career.

TAG Heuer is a Swiss company that makes watches and fashion accessories. TAG Heuer saw Shapovalov’s potential and signed him to a deal in 2017 when he was only 18 years old.

Biosteel

BioSteel is a Canadian company based in Toronto that produces nutrition products for athletes. Biosteel partnered with Shapovalov in 2016.

SpiderTech

Shapovalov signed a sponsorship agreement with SpiderTech in 2021. The company makes tapes to reduce pain and relieve muscle tightness.

Brüst

In 2022, Shapovalov became a shareholder and brand ambassador for Brüst. It’s a cold brew coffee with protein.

Brand Partners of Taylor Fritz

Taylor Fritz was born into a tennis family.  His dad Guy is a tennis coach and his mom Kathy May is a former Top 10 player. Kathy May is also the great-granddaughter of David May, founder of The May Department Stores (now called Macy’s).

Fritz married fellow tennis player Raquel Pedraza in 2016. Raquel played in all 4 grand slams as a junior.  The couple has a son Jordan, who was born in 2017. But the couple divorced at the end of 2019. Taylor Fritz is currently dating Morgan Riddle. 

Fritz had an outstanding year in 2015 as a junior. He won the US Open boys title that year. He was also runner-up at the junior French Open. His biggest title on the ATP tour came in 2022  at Indian Wells, where he won his first Masters title. In 2024, he reached the finals at the US Open where he lost to Jannik Sinner. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he won the bronze medal in doubles with Tommy Paul.

His sponsors are Boss, Head, Rolex, Waterdrop, and Chipotle. He has earned over $20 million in his career.

Fritz is the brand ambassador for Rolex. He joins Roger Federer, Juan Martin Del Potro, and Dominic Thiem in endorsing the Swiss luxury watchmaker.

Waterdrop

In 2022, Fritz became an ambassador for Austrian sustainable water brand Waterdrop

Chipotle

In 2024, he became an ambassador for the healthy fast-food chain Chipotle. He wears the Chipotle logo on his sleeve.

He endorses the healthcare brand Masimo, which blends technology and healthcare

He is an ambassador for the supplement brand Optimum Nutrition
