Darren Cahill Coaching Amanda Anisimova

Amanda Anisimova won her second career title at the Melbourne Summer Set 2. She won her first title in 2019, so it has been quite a while.

During her Melbourne run, Anisimova was coached by Darren Cahill. Cahill coached Simona Halep to be world number 1 but Halep decided to stop working with Cahill in 2021. Cahill has coached several top players including Andre Agassi and Lleyton Hewitt.  He was Australia’s Davis Cup coach from 2007 to 2009.

At the 2019 French Open, Amanda Anisimova reached the semifinals becoming the youngest semifinalist there in over a decade. Just before the 2019 US Open, her father passed away. Since then, she has struggled with poor form and injuries.

Cahill, who has a history of reigniting players’ careers may be able to help Amanda Anisimova.  Former players and big brands sponsoring her expect that she will one day be a grand slam champion.
