Tim Henman To Captain Team Britain At ATP Cup

Tim Henman will be the captain of the Team Britain at ATP Cup event in Australia. Reports indicate that Andy Murray chose Tim Henman to be the captain.  Henman has been a mentor to Murray since his early years on the tour.

British Davis Cup captain Leon Smith was also a top contender for the role. Andy Murray is likely the number one player for the country, followed by Dan Evans if rankings continue to hold up as expected.

Henman has slowly returned to tennis since his retirement in 2007. He is a now sitting committee member at the All England Club.  He is expected to do some traveling and commentating in the summer.

Henman traveled to the Paris Masters to have dinner with several  British players such as Kyle Edmund and Jamie Murray to get to know them better and discuss the new event.

The 11-day  24-nation event has a prize money of over $12 million.
