Australian Open 2022 Prize Money [UPDATED]

COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on everyone. But the Australian Open is increasing the total prize money for the first grand slam of the year by approximately 5% compared to last year.

But the increased total prize money for the tournament doesn’t mean that everyone will get more prize money. As the table below shows,  most of the increase goes to players winners and late round losers. The early round losers will see their prize money drop compared to last year.

Winners of the singles competition will see their prize money jump 26% compared to last year. The 2022 Australian Open singles winner will still take home AUD$ 2.875 million. Doubles and mixed doubles winners will see their prize money increase significantly compared to last year.
