Kiki Bertens Expecting Baby In April 2022

Retired Dutch tennis player Kiki Bertens announced that she is expected a baby in April 2022. She shared the news on social media with a picture at the beach with her husband Remko de Rijke.

Kiki Bertens retired from tennis earlier this year after the Tokyo Olympics. She won 10 singles titles in her career and reached a peak singles ranking of world number 4. She is the highest-ranked Dutch tennis female player ever.

At the time of her retirement, Bertens was ranked world number 24 in singles. She said that her injuries prevented her from playing at the highest level and were the primary reason for retirement at age 29.

Kiki Bertens and Remko de Rijke, who is a physiotherapist, got engaged in 2018 and married in 2019. This is the couple’s first child.

Dominic Thiem And Austrian Health Ministor Mückstein Disagree On Vaccination

Austria’s Minister of Health Wolfgang Mückstein has told Dominic Thiem to get vaccinated. “There are 30-year-olds in intensive care. All the current vaccines available are safe and have been used a billion times.”, Mückstein said.

This week, Dominic Thiem was banned from his home tournament, the Vienna Open, because he was not vaccinated. Thiem is waiting for Novavax to be approved.

I am waiting for Novavax vaccine to be approved. If it doesn’t work within the end of November, I will take another vaccine.

But the health minister Mückstein said that inactivated vaccines such as Novavax are not better than current vaccines on the market.

Thiem is not the only player reluctant to take the vaccine. World number 1 Novak Djokovic has also been coy about his vaccination status. Reports indicate that the players will need to be vaccinated to play the Australian Open.

Thiem has been out of action due to a persistent wrist injury. He has recently started training again and is expected to return to competition at the Australian Open.
