In 2014, Eugenie Bouchard achieved the best tennis record of any Canadian in history. She reached the finals at Wimbledon and the semifinals at the Australian Open and French Open. But her career took a nosedive after that with a string of bad losses and bad luck.  Her sponsorship deals dried up after her rankings fell.

At 2015, US Open she slipped and fell in the locker room, and had concussions. She would later settle with the USTA for an undisclosed amount but her tennis career never recovered.

Genie Bouchard remains one of the sexiest tennis players on the tour and has a huge following on social media. But big-name sponsors have largely backed away. After her rankings dropped, her sponsors Colgate, Aviva, and Usana decided not to renew their sponsorship agreements. 

Even her current contracts with New Balance and Yonex are reportedly tied to performance and do not guarantee payments.

New Balance

In 2021, Bouchard signed a clothing and footwear sponsorship deal with New Balance. She was previously with Nike, and prior to that, with Adidas.

Yonex

Bouchard has had a racquet deal with Yonex since 2018. She currently uses the Yonex VCORE 100. She was previously with Babolat.

Slinger Bag

In 2021, Bouchard became the brand ambassador for Slinger Bag. The company makes ball launchers and a suite of apps for both amateurs and professional tennis players.

Alexander Zverev announced that he has split with his management agency, TEAM8. TEAM8 is owned by Roger Federer and has been representing Zverev for a few years.  Zverev also announced that going forward, his family, especially his brother Mischa and Sergei Bubka will take an active role in managing his business deals.

2020 was a difficult year for Sascha on many fronts. His ex-girlfriend Olya Sharypova accused him of domestic abuse. Zverev denied the allegations but the abuse details are backed by chat messages and appear to be true. He also announced that he is expecting a baby with another girlfriend Brenda Patea. Zverev and Patea were not on speaking terms but since the baby announcement, the two have reconciled. 

When Zverev was asked about the domestic abuse allegations at a post-match press conference, he pulled out his phone and read a message written by his public relations staff. Zverev has not been impacted financially by these allegations.

Zverev’s Adidas contract was up for renewal at the end of 2020. No details are available on where the discussions are but Adidas is likely to keep Zverev, who is one of the top young players on the tour.

Zverev is not the first tennis player to split from TEAM8. Grigor Dimitrov also split from Federer’s agency in 2018 citing too much emphasis on Federer.
