Danielle Collins played college tennis at the University of Virginia. She won the NCAA singles title twice – in 2014 and 2016. After transitioning to the women’s tour, she beat some big names quickly to establish herself on the tour.

In October 2019, she announced that she has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. She announced that she is taking treatment and will continue to play on the tour.
