Amanda Anisimova was born to Russian parents in New Jersey, USA.  Her family later moved to Miami where better training opportunities were available. Her older sister Maria played college tennis at the University of Pennsylvania.

Anisimova is represented by talent agency IMG. IMG also represents Serena Williams and the retired Maria Sharapova.


Anisimova wears Nike apparel and shoes on the court. She currently wears the Nike Air Zoom Zero shoes.


Anisimova has a racquet deal with Babolat. She currently uses the Babolat Pure Drive racquet on the court.


In early 2020, Anisimova signed a global sponsorship deal with sports beverage maker Gatorade.

Denis Shapovalov was born in Tel-Aviv when his mother lived there briefly.  His parents moved to Canada when he was 9 months old.  Nicknamed “Shapo”, he was coached by his mother Tessa, who owns a tennis academy in Vaughan, Canada.

His signature shot on the tennis court is the jumping one-handed backhand. Shapovalov’s idol growing up was Roger Federer. He is a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Toronto Raptors (NBA).

TAG Heuer is a Swiss company that makes watches and fashion accessories. TAG Heuer saw Shapovalov’s potential and signed him to a deal in 2017 when he was only 18 years old.


BioSteel is a Canadian company based in Toronto that produces nutrition products for athletes. Biosteel partnered with Shapovalov in 2016.


Shapovalov signed a sponsorship agreement with SpiderTech in 2021. The company makes tapes to reduce pain and relieve muscle tightness.
