Andy Roddick Backed Sweetens Cove Bourbon Hits The Shelves For $200 Per Bottle

Sweetens Cove Bourbon, backed by Andy Roddick and NFL star Peyton Manning hit the shelves this week for $200 per bottle. It is expected to be available at a number of major retailers.

Other investors in the venture include real estate investor Mark Rivers, sports broadcaster Jim Nantz, Leon Chen (CEO of Tiff’s Treats), and Kendra Scott CEO Tom Nolan.

The 25,000 bottles that will be released in Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia are a blend of 16, 6, and 4-year-old juices that were aged in barrels in Kentucky.

Real estate investor Mark Rivers asked his good friend Andy Roddick whether he wanted to invest in a golf club. Roddick was interested and the investors bought a nine-hole golf course in rural Tennessee called Sweetens Cove. Interestingly, the investors in the golf club also signed on to the bourbon since they all drank bourbon after golf.

The woman behind the Sweetens Cove Bourbon is Marianne Eaves.  She is Kentucky’s first female master distiller. The investors hope that Eaves’ expertise will fetch the hefty $200 price tag per bottle.
