American tennis star Sofia Kenin is dating her coach Max Wenders. Earlier this year, Kenin fired her dad as her coach and hired Wenders.

Kenin went public with the relationship on Instagram. She recently wished Wenders a happy birthday affectionately on the social media site.

Wenders, who is from the Netherlands, initially wanted to become a tennis player. But he found the sport too expensive. When he joined an academy in Belgium to train, he also worked as a coach.

Unlike other coaches on the tour, Max Wenders is only 25, three years older than Kenin. He was previously a hitting partner for Jelena Ostapenko. He also briefly coached Anett Kontaveit and Demi Schuurs.

Sofia Kenin won her first grand slam at the 2020 Australian Open. She also reached the finals at the French Open that year, losing the final match to Iga Swiatek.
