Shang Juncheng is a former junior world number 1. His dad is former soccer player Shang Yi and his mom is former tennis player Wu Na. He has been training at the IMG Academy in Florida for many years.

In August 2022, Juncheng won his first Challenger title in Lexington at age 17 beating Emilio Gomez in straight sets. His sponsors are Nike and Babolat. He has earned around $200,000 in his career.
