Shang Juncheng is a former junior world number 1. His dad is former soccer player Shang Yi and his mom is former tennis player Wu Na. He has been training at the IMG Academy in Florida for many years.

He won his first title at Chengdu Open by beating Lorenzo Musetti at the age of 19. In August 2022, Juncheng won  His bhis first Challenger title in Lexington at age 17 beating Emilio Gomez in straight sets. His best grand slam result to date came at the 2024 US Open where he reached the third round.

His sponsors are Nike and Babolat. He has earned around $2 million in his career.

Nick Kyrgios Wins Two Titles At Citi Open, Three Chinese Men In Top 250

Shang “Jerry” Juncheng won his first Challenger title in Lexington. The 17-year-old Chinese star will rise to 241 in the rankings with this win. Juncheng is coached by former world number 1 Marcelo Rios. There are now three Chinese men ranked in the top 250 in the world – Zhizhen Zhang, Yibing Wu, and Juncheng Shang. (Twitter).

Nick Kyrgios, proving that his run at Wimbledon was no fluke, won the singles and doubles title at the Citi Open. Kyrgios easily beat Yoshihito Nishioka in the singles final to end his three-year title drought. He partnered with Jack Sock on his way to the doubles title. (ESPN)
