Though Beatriz Haddad Maia lost in the final to Simona Halep in three, it was a great week for the Brazilian. She will rise to her career-best ranking of world number 16.

Haddad Maia is the first Brazilian woman to reach a WTA 1000 final. At the Canadian Open, she beat world number 1 Iga Swiatek, Belinda Bencic, and Karolina Pliskova in her incredible run to the final.

Pablo Carreño Busta Finally Wins A Masters Title, CoCo Gauff Rises To Top Of Doubles Ranking

Pablo Carreño Busta beat Hubert Hurkacz to win the Canadian Open, his first Masters title. While this win may be surprising to some, Busta is a two-time US Open semifinalist who won the bronze medal at the 2022 Tokyo Olympics. (ATP)

Simona Halep won the Canadian Open title beating Beatriz Haddad Maia in three sets. This is Halep’s first title with new coach Patrick Mouratoglou bur her third Canadian Open title overall.(ESPN)

Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula won the doubles title in Toronto. With the win, Gauff will reach the world number 1 ranking in doubles. She is the second youngest player to achieve this feat after Martina Hingis who was 17 years old when she became world number 1. (WTA)
