Stan Wawrinka Reunites With Coach Magnus Norman

Stan Wawrinka wants to return to his best tennis and he is teaming up with his former coach Magnus Norman. The pair split at the end of the 2017 season. Since then, Wawrinka has been working with Daniel Vallverdu but that partnership has now ended.

Wawrinka underwent foot surgery in 2021 and dropped out of the top 300 in the world ranking. The comeback from injury has been slow and he has struggled to make it to the later rounds of a tournament. Wawrinka, a three-time grand slam champion, Moselle Open semifinals in 2022 – his first semifinals in more than two years. That run helped him get back into the top 150 in rankings.

Wawrinka previously worked with Magnus Norman from 2013 to 2017. During their partnership, Wawrinka won three grand slam titles. Norman also coached Robin Soderling to two consecutive French Open finals.

United Cup, Mixed ATP And WTA Event, To Be Held In Australia

We have a replacement for the Hopman Cup, a mixed-gender team competition that was held as a warm-up for the Australian Open. The new tournament, called the United Cup, will be held for the first time between December 29, 2022, and January 8, 2023.

Each team will include up to four men and four women from 18 countries. Players participating in the tournament will get ATP and WTA ranking points. The total prize money for the inaugural season is $15 million. Each contest includes four singles matches and one mixed doubles match. The four singles matches include two between women and two between men.

Teams will qualify for the United Cup based on players’ ranking. Australia, as the host nation, gets automatic entry into the tournament.
