Holger Rune Is Building A Reputation As ATP’s Drama Queen

Holger Rune is quietly building a reputation for being a whiner and a drama queen. In the latest flare-up, he got into an argument with Stan Wawrinka at Indian Wells after losing the match in a third-set tie-break.

Wawrinka and Rune have a history. In their previous match, which Wawrinka lost, he asked Rune to “grow up” and stop being a baby. After their latest match, Rune asked Wawrinka, “You have got nothing to say now” and Wawrinka replied, What do you want me to say”.

Wawrinka thinks Holger Rune has huge potential but he is not building a good reputation in the locker room

He is a great young player, has an enormous potential, but he is building a reputation in the locker room which he will regret of one day.

Bob Bryan Appointed US Davis Cup Captain After Mardy Fish Fiasco

Bob Bryan has been appointed captain of the US Davis Cup team. He competed in 31 Davis Cup ties for the US. The US Davis Cup captain position was open after Mardy Fish resigned a few months ago. Fish invited controversy by dropping then doubles world number 1 Rajeev Ram from the team.

Bob Bryan is considered one of the best doubles players ever. He played doubles with his twin brother Mike Bryan for more than 2 decades. They spent 438 weeks as world number 1. They won 16 grand slams and 119 titles together. They won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. They were also part of the US team that won the Davis Cup in 2007.

Speaking about his new role, Bob Bryan said:

“I am extremely honored and humbled for this opportunity to captain the United States Davis Cup Team. I have been inspired watching these young American players continue to rise and I am motivated to contribute to this positive momentum. I feel grateful to have represented my country in Davis Cup. These experiences have offered me my proudest moments on the court and my most unforgettable memories. Playing Davis Cup was a dream for me as a young junior and the goal of making the team pushed me while I played on tour. I am passionately looking forward to working with the players, their coaches, teams, and the USTA support staff in our mission to bring the Cup back to the United States.

Bob Bryan is a strong choice for Davis Cup captain. He brings decades of experience to the team. He also brings his big energy and enthusiasm to the game.

Few players in the history of the game have personified a champion the way Bob Bryan has. Bob’s consistent and long-term success at the highest levels, as well as his demonstrated leadership in a team environment, make him an ideal captain for the Davis Cup Team amid such an exciting era for American men’s tennis.

-Brian Hainline, Chairman of the Board and President of USTA
