Jannik Sinner Is Coached By Darren Cahill And Simone Vagnozzi

Jannik Sinner is currently working with former Italian tennis player Simone Vagnozzi. Legendary coach Darren Cahill is also part of Sinner’s coaching team as he hoped win the elusive grand slam title soon.

He split with his longtime coach Riccardo Piatti in 2022. Simone Vagnozzi  retired from professional tennis in 2015. He reached a career-high singles ranking of 161 and a doubles ranking of 74.

Prior to that, Sinner was coached by Ricardo Piatti. Piatti coached coaching Jannik Sinner since he was 13. Sinner also worked with Andrea Volpin (secondary coach). Piatti has been an advisor and part-time coach to many top players including Maria Sharapova, Ivan Ljubičić,   Novak Djokovic, and Milos Ranonic.

Piatti spent his early years at the Nick Bollettieri Academy, where he learned the tricks of the trade to be a coach. Nick Bollettieri Academy is a now part of IMG.

When he was young, Sinner was interested in skiing. He won the national championship in giant slalom at age eight and a national runner-up at age 12. At age 13, he moved to Bordighera to focus on tennis and started training at the Piatti Tennis Centre.

Sinner didn’t focus too much on competitive tennis as a junior. He started playing on the ITF tour in 2018. In 2019, at age 17, he won his first ATP Challenger title. He steadily moved up the rankings, reaching the Top to in 2021.

Jannik Sinner is often compared to Roger Federer for his calm demeanor. Many attribute Sinner’s excellent lateral movements on the tennis court to background his skiing.
