Hsieh Su-Wei Wins Back To Back Doubles Grand Slam Titles After Long Injury Layoff

Hsieh Su-Wei and Barbora Strycova won the women’s doubles title at Wimbledon. Hsieh also won the French Open doubles title with Wang Xinyu.

Strycova and Su-Wei are both 37 years old and are the oldest pair to make it to a grand slam final. The pair won the 2019 Wimbledon title and lost the 2020 Australian Open doubles finals.

Su-Wei is the highest-ranked Taiwanese player in history. She reached a peak ranking of world number 23 in singles and world number 1 in doubles. She is known for unorthodox play which includes playing with two hands on both sides and hitting flat shots.

Su-Wei was out of action for almost 18 months due to an injury. But she hit her peak form right away winning both the French Open and Wimbledon. She has won six doubles grand slam titles and earned more than $10 million in prize money in her career.
