Dominic Thiem has hired Benjamin Ebrahimzadeh as his new coach. Ebrahimzadeh has coached many players including Viktoria Azarenka, Natalia Vikhlyantseva, and Angelique Kerber.
Unlike his previous coach Nicolas Massu, Ebrahimzadeh is known for his straight talk.
Intensity and scope have gotten much higher over the past four weeks. Benny says things straight to my face and shows me how I can reach my performance limit,
Thiem is watching videos of his game and making changes to the game based on the new coach’s input
One example is the position on the pitch. Since Indian Wells and Miami I’ve been hammering the ball again with full intensity and he said you can see that my wrist is really good again. But it’s relatively useless if I each take the ball at the same level.” I saw for myself how big the difference is.”.
Ebrahimzadeh plays a dual role – he is coach and physiotherapist. Thiem is also working with a mental coach to handle stressful situation better both on and off the court.
Earlier this year, Dominic Thiem split with Kosmos, which was managing his business interests. His business interests are now managed by his brother Moritz Thiem.
