As a junior Abdullah Shelbayh reached a peak ranking of world number 27. In 2018, he moved to Mallorca to train at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy.
He played college tennis for a year at the University of Florida. In 2023, he won his first Challenger title in Charleston becoming the first player from Jordan to achieve the feat. He also reached the final at the Manama Challenger where he lost to Thanasi Kokkinakis.
