Federer Wraps Up Three-Week Training Block In Dubai With Junior Fench Open Champion Dominic Stricker

Roger Federer, who will miss the Australian Open for the first time, has been training in Dubai for 3 weeks with 2020 junior French Open champion Dominic Stricker.

Federer’s comeback from two knee surgeries last year has been slower than expected. Federer expects to join the tour in a couple of weeks if he is able to get back to match fitness. Federer’s last official match was at the semifinals of the 2020 Australian Open, where he lost to eventual winner Novak Djokovic.

Stricker, who plays left-handed, shared the news on social media thanking Federer and his coaches Severin Luthin and Ivan Ljbjucic for the training block.

Speaking of the practice session, Dominic Stricker said, “It is impressive to see how quickly Roger switches. He is relaxed during breaks, and as soon as he takes the racket again, he switches to training mode – then he is immediately very concentrated.” (quote via @BernerZeitung)

Dominic Stricker, who is from Switzerland, beat fellow Swiss Leandro Riedi in straight sets to win the 2020 junior French Open title. He also went on to win the junior doubles titles at the French Open partnering Italian player Flavio Cobolli.

Serena Williams Sells Palm Beach Home For $2.8 Million, Looks To Move West

Serena Williams has sold her Palm Beach Gardens home for $2.8 million. Williams bought the 5600- sq. ft five-bedroom, five-bath house for $2.5 million in 2015. The house is located in an exclusive gated community.

Serena Williams has been hinting at moving to the West Coast for some time. But the move may not happen instantly as Williams is still focused on tennis, and Florid remains an ideal place to train due to its weather.

South Florida market has been red-hot in recent months. Williams didn’t even list her home for sale – probably, because she was able to sell it without listing the property. Property records show that the sale took place at the end of last year.

Serena Williams currently has 23 grand slams. The 39-year old has been focused on winning one more grand slam that would help her tie the record held by Margaret Court.
