Who Coaches Coco Gauff? Is Her Dad Still Involved In Coaching?

Coco Gauff’s collaboration with renowned coach Brad Gilbert, which began in July 2023, proved to be a game-changer in her career. Over the course of their partnership, Gauff secured four titles, including her first Grand Slam victory at the 2023 US Open. A key factor in her success was Gilbert’s work in improving her forehand, a shot that had previously been a weak point. However, after a series of disappointing results in 2024, the duo decided to part ways in September, bringing their impactful partnership to a close.

Jean-Christophe Faurel previously coached Coco Gauff. Gauff worked with Faurel since 2019. She also works with super coach Patrick Mouratoglou, who works with many players including Stefanos Tsitsipas and Serena Williams.

Jean-Christophe Faurel is a former tennis player from France. Though he played professional tennis for a few years, his career didn’t take off.

When Coco Gauff was young, she was coached by her dad Corey. He gave up his career as a healthcare executive to focus on Gauff’s career. She enrolled at Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy In Paris at age 10 after getting sponsorship to train there.

At a young age, Gauff’s talent was evident. She won the USTA Clay Court National 12-and-under title at age 10, becoming the youngest champion in the tournament’s history.

She won her first WTA title in 2019 at the Linz Open, becoming the youngest player to win a title since 2004. In 2021, she reached the quarterfinals of a grand slam for the first time at the French Open.

Gauff’s parents are both college athletes. Her father played basketball at Georgia State University and her mom was a track and field athlete at Florida State University.

Dominic Thiem And Austrian Health Ministor Mückstein Disagree On Vaccination

Austria’s Minister of Health Wolfgang Mückstein has told Dominic Thiem to get vaccinated. “There are 30-year-olds in intensive care. All the current vaccines available are safe and have been used a billion times.”, Mückstein said.

This week, Dominic Thiem was banned from his home tournament, the Vienna Open, because he was not vaccinated. Thiem is waiting for Novavax to be approved.

I am waiting for Novavax vaccine to be approved. If it doesn’t work within the end of November, I will take another vaccine.

But the health minister Mückstein said that inactivated vaccines such as Novavax are not better than current vaccines on the market.

Thiem is not the only player reluctant to take the vaccine. World number 1 Novak Djokovic has also been coy about his vaccination status. Reports indicate that the players will need to be vaccinated to play the Australian Open.

Thiem has been out of action due to a persistent wrist injury. He has recently started training again and is expected to return to competition at the Australian Open.
