Stan Wawrinka has launched an NFT collection of 5,555 digital tennis players. These players will participate in a virtual tournament. 

The NFT owner can improve the (digital) player’s performance by training them and making them more valuable.  Wawrinka hopes to build a community with his NFT collection.

NFTs have become very popular in recent years. Tennis players such as Jessical Pegula and Oleksandra Oliynykova already have sold NFTs.

Stan Wawrinka has won three grand slam titles. His reached a career-high ranking of world number 3 in 2014. He won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympics with Roger Federer. He has struggled since early 2021 with injuries. He underwent surgery on his left foot and is expected to be back in action later in 2022.
