The first words you learn in a new language are probably swear works. Did your friends teach you new words without telling you what they mean? That’s what happened to US Open champion Emma Raducanu.
In an interview to Italian media, Raducanu was asked if she has learned Italian since she has been in the country. She replied with a swear word, which she had learned from a friend. You can listen to the full exchange here.
Emma Raducanu quickly realized something was off and asked the interviewer what the phrase meant. The interviewer politely replied that she will tell Raducanu at a later time.
