Japanese tennis star Yoshihito Nishioka has quietly built a name for himself on ATP tour. Sponsors see Nishioka as young Japanese player who could follow the footsteps of Kei Nishikori.
Nishioka’s dad is a tennis coach. Nishioka started playing tennis at age 4. His favorite player when growing was fellow lefty Marcelo Rios.
At 5′ 7″, Nishioka is one of the shortest players on the tour. But with his powerful grounds strikes, he can keep up with players who are more than a foot taller than him.
