Federer Withdraws From Paris Masters

After winning the 10th title in his hometown of Basel, Federer has pulled out of Paris Masters. A lucky loser will take Federer’s spot in the draw.

Federer won the Paris Masters in 2011. Last year, Federer reached the semi finals before losing to Novak Djokovic.

“I am extremely disappointed to have to pull out of the Rolex Paris Masters. “I am sorry for my French fans, who I will see next year at Roland Garros.”, Federer said.

Federer has already secured a spot in the ATP Finals, which start on 10 November at the O2 Arena in London. Last year, Federer had some back issues during the ATP Finals, it’s understandable that he wants to be 100% fit for this year’s event.

Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev are quickly catching up to Federer in the ranking.  With Federer set to lose his semi finals points from last year, we can expect a tight race between the three.
