Wimbledon 2020 Canceled
Wimbledon has been canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the All England Club announced on Wednesday.
This is the first time Wimbledon Championships has been canceled since World War II in 1945. It is also the first time that the tournament has been canceled during peacetime.
Wimbledon reportedly has a pandemic insurance policy and will be covered financially unlike the French Open.
To players expressed disappointment at the announcement but many also underscored that it was the correct decision considering the widespread disruption to life caused by the coronavirus epidemic.
Roger Federer, who will be almost 40 in 2021, expressed his huge disappointment at the announcement.
Simona Halep seemed happy to be a reigning champion for two years.
