Mackenzie McDonald played college tennis at the University of California (UCLA) between 2014 and 2016. In 2016, he won the NCAA singles and doubles titles and finished college season as the No. 1 singles and doubles player in the US.

In 2021, he reached his first ATP final at the Citi Open. In 2022, he entered the Top 50 in world rankings for the first time. His best grand slam result came at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships and 2021 Australian Open where he reached the fourth round.

From age 11, he was coached by former Top 10 player Wayne Ferreira. His idols include Roger Federer and Kobe Bryant. He’s a fan of the NBA basketball team, Golden State Warriors. His current sponsors include Original Penguin, LaceClips, and Wilson. he has earned over $4 million in his career.
