Holger Rune And Boris Becker To Continue Partnership Into 2024

Holger Rune has decided to continue his coaching partnership with Boris Becker into 2023. The pair worked together towards the end of the 2023 season, which was fruitful for Rune after struggling for many months before that. At one point after Wimbledon, he had lost 10 out of 11 matches.

Rune qualified for the year-end ATP finals. Though he lost his matches against Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic, his form had improved considerably under Becker.

Becker was excited to continue the partnership with Holger Rune, saying, “I am very excited to continue my partnership with Holger Rune in 2024. We are building a team around Holger to bring out the best version of himself, on and off the court.”.

Rune confirmed that the the partnership will continue because of the positive results, saying  “The plan is to continue together. We must evaluate what needs to happen. We’ve had some positive weeks where I’ve started to play really good tennis. It’s small things that hopefully we can develop even more”.

Rune’s mother Aneke Rune said that the team is looking to add a physical therapist and trainer to the team. The two will travel with Rune and handle additional responsibilities when Becker is unavailable to travel.

Meet Zachary Svajda, a talented tennis player with Czech roots, whose journey in the world of tennis is both inspiring and remarkable. Hailing from a family deeply connected to the sport, with his father serving as a tennis coach at the Pacific Beach Tennis Club, Zachary’s tennis trajectory took a unique path.

In an effort to be mindful of expenses, the Svajda family opted not to send Zachary to junior tournaments. Instead, he dedicated countless hours to honing his skills on tennis courts close to his San Diego home. Despite the unconventional approach, Svajda’s commitment and passion for the game propelled him to extraordinary achievements.

Notably, Svajda clinched victory at the USTA Boys’ 18s National Championships in Kalamazoo not once, but twice, in both 2019 and 2021. His breakthrough continued in 2022 when he secured his first Challenger title at Tiburon. The momentum only intensified in 2023 as Svajda added more titles at the Challenger level to his growing list of accomplishments, leading to his ascent into the top 150 in the world rankings for the first time.
