Danielle Collins revealed that doctors removed a cyst the size of a tennis ball from her uterus. Collins has been struggling with endometriosis for some time.

Collins shared the news on social media:

Thank you @dianafalzone for all the work you do for the endometriosis community. I was lucky to have a friend in my life who went through the struggles of endometriosis Her experience helped me identify the pain I was going through. I hope by sharing my experience, I can be that friend to someone who is struggling. @endofound

Since the surgery, Collins revealed that she has been able to work out consistently and has not had flu-like symptoms she was struggling with previously. Collins also said that many women had reached out to her and thanked her for sharing her story.

Endometriosis affects about 10 percent of women worldwide. It leads to painful periods which can last for several weeks. A tiny camera needs to be inserted into the abdomen to diagnose the issue – a costly procedure, which results in the problem remaining undiagnosed for many women.
