Genie Bouchard To Play For Chicago Smash In 2021

Canadian star Genie Bouchard will be back with Chicago Smash after the team traded Leylah Fernandez to the Orange County Breakers. World Team Tennis will be held at Indian Wells on Nov. 13-28.

Bouchard underwent arthroscopic surgery in June 2021. It’s not certain that she will play at this year’s competition. In interviews, Bouchard has been hinting at a 2022 return to the tennis court.

In 2014, Genie Bouchard reached the finals at Wimbledon and semifinals at the Australian Open and French Open. She has been struggling with injuries for several years.

The Chicago Smash franchise was founded in 2020. The team plays its home matches at the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago. The team has several top players such as Sam Querrey, Frances Tiafoe, and Sloane Stephens.

Rafael Nadal Congratulates Longtime Friend Pau Gasol On His Retirement

Pau Gasol retired from basketball earlier this month. Fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal was quick to congratulate his good friend and NBA great.

Rafael Nadal and Gasol are longtime friends and business partners. Nadal, Gaso, and soccer star Christiano Ronaldo recently opened a hotel named “Tatel” to bring Spanish food to Beverly Hills.

Gasol is a six-time me NBA All-Star. He won two NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010. In his 20-year NBA career, he played for Memphis, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Antonio, and Milwaukee.

Playing for Spain, he won the FIBA World Cup title, three EuroBasket titles, two Olympic silver medals, and an Olympic bronze medal.

His younger brother Marc Gasol also plays in the NBA. He is currently playing for the Los Angeles Lakers after playing for Memphis and Toronto. He won the NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors. Marc and Pau Gasol became the first brothers to win NBA titles.
