Novak Djokovic Splits With Goran Ivanisevic. What’s Next For The GOAT

Novak Djokovic‘s recent split with coach Goran Ivanisevic marks the end of a fruitful partnership that saw Djokovic achieve remarkable success. Ivanisevic played a pivotal role in Djokovic’s career, helping him secure 9 Grand Slam titles and refining his serve to become one of the best in the sport. This strategic improvement not only enhanced Djokovic’s performance but also helped him conserve energy as he entered the later stages of his career.

Djokovic announced the split on social media, reminiscing about the journey with Ivanisevic since 2018 and highlighting their shared successes, saying

I remember clearly the moment I invited Goran to be part of my team. It was back in 2018, and Marian and I were looking to innovate and bring some serve magic to our duo. In fact, not only we brought serve, but also lots of laughter, fun, year end no1 rankings, record breaking achievements and 12 more Grand Slams (and a few finals) to the count since then. Did I mention a bit of drama too? 🎢🫣😊#Nolefam would know 🤫

Goran and I decided to stop working together a few days ago. Our on court chemistry had its ups and downs, but our friendship was always rock solid. In fact, I am proud to say (not sure he is 🤪) that apart from winning tournaments together, we also had a side battle in Parchisi going on… for many years. And – that tournament never stops for us.

Šefinjo, thanks for everything my friend. Love you.I remember clearly the moment I invited Goran to be part of my team. The bond between Djokovic and Ivanisevic extended beyond the court. Ivanisevic stood by Djokovic during challenging times, including when Djokovic faced deportation from Australia for his stance on the COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, Djokovic parted ways with his longtime agent Edoardo Artaldi and Elena Cappellaro at the end of last year, further emphasizing a period of transition in his team.

As Djokovic prepares for the French Open, the question arises: who will fill the void left by Ivanisevic? Will Djokovic seek another renowned coach or rely on his existing team for support?
