Linda Fruhvirtova Breaks Through, Wins Chennai Title, Enters Top 100 In Rankings
Linda Fruhvirtova won her first WTA title in Chennai beating Magda Linette 4-6, 6-3, and 6-4 in the final. With the Chennai title, Fruhvirtova will enter the top 100 in WTA rankings.
Fruhvirtova qualified for the US Open by winning three qualifying matches but lost in the second round to Garbiñe Muguruza. In 2022, she has beaten many high quality players including Victoria Azarenka and Elise Mertens.
