Belinda Bencic Hires Dmitry Tursunov As Coach
Dmitry Tursunov is working with Belinda Bencic after breaking up Emma Raducanu. In the last 15 months, Raducanu has worked with 4 coaches but her on-court results have not shown any improvement.
Bencic has been ranked as high as world number 4. She won the gold medal in singles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In her early years, she was coached by Martina Hingis’ mother Melanie Molitor. Her best grand slam result came at the 2019 US Open where she reached the semifinals.
Prior to working with Raducanu, Tursunov worked with Anett Kontaveit, helping her move up to world number 2. Before that, he worked with Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Vesnina.
Dmitry Tursunov retired from professional tennis in 2017. He reached a career-high ranking of world number 20. He won seven singles titles in his career but never managed to move beyond the fourth round of a grand slam.
