Gijs Brouwer was born in Houston, TX but his parents moved back to their native Netherlands when he was two months old. Due to his low rankings, he has been mostly playing on the Challenger circuit.

Jack Sock was beaten by the part-time Croatian tennis player Matija Pecotic at the Delray Beach Open. Pecotic had to qualify for the main draw but somehow managed to beat Sock 4-6 6-2 6-2.

The loss must hurt for Sock, who was once ranked in the top 10 in the world.  Pecotic works full-time as the director of Capital Markets for Wexford Real Estate Investors. He was ranked 206 in the world in 2015.

Pecotic joked that he will need to ask for another day at work to play the next round.
