Iga Swiatek is an excellent tennis player who can crush opponents with her powerful game. So why does she wave her hands at the net, hoping to distract opponents? Swiatek’s opponents have called her out for poor sportsmanship.

Swiatek has waved her hands at the net multiple times. I am surprised that some opponents have not decided to direct the ball at her while she is waving her hands. Once or twice, Swiatek has apologized to her opponents for her behavior but continues to engage in distraction.

Players resort to distraction tactics all the time. Whether it’s slowing down their opponent by taking time to towel their face or trying to rush their opponents by serving too quickly. But Iga Swiatek is too good a player to try these tactics on the court. I hope she stops these tactics. This is not what we expect from world number 1.
