Francisco Cerundolo reached the final at the Argentina Open in 2021 as a qualifier. Though he lost Diego Schwartzman, his immense potential was on display. In 2022, he won his first ATP title at Bastad beating Sebastian Baez. He also entered the Top 30 in world rankings for the first time in 2022.

His younger brother,  Juan Manuel Cerundolo is also a professional tennis player. At the Córdoba Open in 2021, the brothers became the first Argentine brothers to compete in a tournament in 40 years. His dad Alejandro played tennis and his sister Constanza was part of Argentina’s field hockey team that won the gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympics.
