Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili started playing tennis when he was 5. His dad Nodar was a dancer for Georgian national ballet and his mother Natalia is a physician. His family moved a lot when he was young. So he trained in Russia, the United States, and then in Turkey.

Though he has floated the idea of playing for Russia, he has continued to represent Georgia. In his career, he has beaten top players such as Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro. He reached a career-high ranking of world number 16 in 2019.

He reached the finals at the Indian Wells Masters in 2021 where he lost to Cameron Norrie. His sponsors are EA7, Head, and Gerald Charles. He has earned over $10 million in his career.

Basilashvili has a racquet sponsorship contract with Head. He uses the Head pro stock racquet TGT344.3, which he paints to look like Head Graphene 360 Speed MP.

Gerald Charles

Gerald Charles is a Swiss watch brand that was founded in 2000. The company was founded by Gérald Charles Genta who designed watches for IWC, Omega SA, Universal Genève, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet before starting his own company.

Asics Terminates Its Sponsorship Contract With Thiago Wild After Domestic Violence Allegations

Asics has decided not to renew its sponsorship with Thiago Seyboth Wild, who is under police investigation for domestic abuse. His ex-girlfriend Thayane Lima has accused him of physical and emotional abuse.

Asics has been sponsoring Wild since his junior playing days but chose not to renew in light of the recent allegations against him.

Wild was out of action for several months due to a hip injury. He returned to action this week but lost in the first round at the Santiago challenger.

In 2020 when was just 19 years old, he won his first ATP tour title in Santiago beating Casper Ruud. He became the youngest Brazilian to win an ATP title, beating the record held by Gustavo Kuerten.

Interestingly, Asics decided to not renew the partnership. Adidas, the company that sponsors Alexander Zverev, who has been under investigation for domestic violence, chose to renew its contract with the German player despite the allegations.
