A majority of adults in Spain don’t support bullfighting and consider it animal cruelty. But bullfighting is a cultural tradition in Spain.

Carlos Alcaraz comes across as a sensible person on most issues. But his support of bullfighting has surprised many fans. He was called out on social media for attending the event and for supporting the torture of animals.

PETA criticized Alcaraz saying, ““Tennis is a sport; animal abuse is not Carlos Alcaraz! Stop supporting bullfighting”.

In 2023, Ashlyn Krueger won her first WTA title at the Japan Open. This helped her enter the top 100 in WTA rankings for the first time.
