Surprising No One, Medvedev Wins Shanghai Masters

Daniil Medvedev  won the Shanghai Masters title with a  6-4, 6-1 win over Alexander Zverev on Sunday. It was his second consecutive Masters title after winning in Cincinnati. He also reached the grand slam final at the US Open losing to Rafael Nadal.

Medvedev has been a tear since the summer hard court season began. His 29-3 record since Wimbledon has moved him to No.4 in the world rankings behind the Big Three.

Medvedev leads the tour with 59 wins this season. Speaking of the incredible season he has had, Medvedev said, “Something clicked in my game in USA,” I don’t know why. I think it’s just the hard work that I have been doing”.

“But I started to understand even more about my game, even more I would say about my serve, about my volley, about everything, like kind of what do I have to do when?”

Federer Signs Deal To Play Exhibition In China Until 2023

Roger Federer has signed a deal to play exhibition matches in Hangzhou, China until 2023.  Federer will be 42 years old in 2023.

The exhibition will feature Alexander Zverev (represented by Team8, Federer’s sports management agency) and the Bryan brothers, Bob and Mike Bryan.

As Federer enters the last years of his playing career, he has been increasingly willing to play exhibition matches, either for charity or money. He is already the highest paid tennis player in the world.

Federer’s sponsors have also been willing to sign up Federer for long term deals beyond his tennis playing years.
