Minister Of Happiness Ons Jabeur Inks Deal To Wear Asics Shoes

Three-time Grand Slam finalist Ons Jabeur has inked an exciting new shoe sponsorship deal with ASICS. As part of this partnership, she will sport the cutting-edge Solution Speed FF 3 tennis shoe, joining the ranks of tennis legends like Novak Djokovic, Alex de Minaur, and Beatriz Haddad Maia.

However, Jabeur won’t be donning ASICS apparel, as she remains committed to her clothing contract with the Saudi brand Kayanee. Known as the “Minister of Happiness,” Jabeur continues to break new ground for women’s tennis in Africa and the Arab world.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the collaboration, Jabeur shared:

I’m proud to officially join the ASICS family. I’ve always admired ASICS for their outstanding tennis products, which are highly regarded on the tour. Their unique focus on mental well-being truly sets them apart in the sports industry. The brand’s philosophy, ‘Anima Sana In Corpore Sano,’ meaning ‘A Sound Mind In A Sound Body,’ resonates deeply with me. I’m thrilled to represent such a value-driven brand at the highest level.

Ons Jabeur‘s remarkable journey includes reaching the finals of the 2022 and 2023 Wimbledon Championships, as well as the 2022 US Open. While the Grand Slam title has remained elusive, she has earned over $15 million in her career, solidifying her status as one of Tunisia’s most successful athletes.

From the Court to Controversy: Tiafoe’s ‘Too Small’ Gesture Sparks Debate

The “too small” celebration has now made its way to tennis. Frances Tiafoe performed the gesture after defeating Lorenzo Musetti, who recently won a bronze medal for Italy.

The gesture, originating in basketball, is typically used as a taunt when a taller player dunks over a shorter opponent. It has also appeared in the NFL, where Justin Jefferson tried this against the Carolina Panthers with his own “too small” gesture but was promptly fined by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Some wonder if this move was over the top, especially considering Tiafoe’s season. Tiafoe’s season has been difficult, as he hasn’t advanced beyond the third round in any Grand Slam this year.

In contrast, Lorenzo Musetti reached the semifinals at Wimbledon and won the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Earlier this year, Musetti welcomed a baby boy with his partner, Veronica Confalonieri.

Unsurprisingly, Tiafoe’s gesture has drawn criticism from many. Their next matchup should be interesting, given the tension from this celebration.
