Rafael Nadal’s Birthday Is Now National Tennis Day In Spain

Royal Spanish Tennis Federation announced that Rafael Nadal’s birthday, June 3, will be National Tennis Day in Spain.  National Tennis Day is a great way to celebrate one of Spain’s greatest athletes.

The statement from the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation read:

It is about all the clubs (more than 1,500 in Spain), the Territorial Federations and the fans from all over Spain celebrate tennis with different activities: social tournaments (mixed, male, female, children, veterans, etc.), Master classes, wheel chair tennis, beach tennis, exhibitions, etc. The idea came up in a broadcast on Eurosport (a chain that offers several RFET Challengers and ITF Women Tour tournaments) during the Roland Garros match between Rafael Nadal and Richard Gasquet, held on June 3, the birthday of the Manacor tennis player.

A statue of Rafael Nadal was unveiled at Roland Garros, the site of the French, a few weeks ago to honor Nadal’s achievements at the French Open.

Lorenzo Sonego Releases Song On Spotify

Italian tennis player Lorenzo Sonego is not just  good at tennis. He is also a very good singer. He has released a single, “Un solo secondo” on Spotify.

The song has received rave reviews and has more than 15,000 listens and growing.  Sonego is not the only tennis player who is good at singing. Denis Shapovalov and Corentin Moutet have also released their own songs.

Sonego was born in Turin, Italy. As a junior, he played soccer for the Torino youth academy before switching full-time to tennis at age 13. He has reached a peak ranking of world number 21. He has reached the fourth round at the French Open and at Wimbledon.
