Ana Konjuh Undergoes Surgery For Fractured Fibula

Ana Konjuh fractured her fibula at the 2022 French Open and underwent surgery immediately. She shared the news on social media with a picture from the hospital after the surgery.

Konjuh, a  junior world number 1, was world number 20 on the women’s tour in 2017. But she had surgery on her right elbow that year and dropped out of the top 1000. In 2021, she worked her way back into the top 100.

In 2016, she reached the quarterfinals at the US Open – her best grand slam result. She has won 1 singles title in her career.

Iga Swiatek May Break Steffi Graf’s Record of Winning Most 6-0 Sets In A Year

Iga Swiatek is on an incredible winning streak. Her opponents consider themselves lucky if they can take a game or two per set. With the number of bagels (6-0 sets) she is handing out, she is reminding older tennis fans of Steffi Graf, who handed out bagels to her opponents for years.

Steff Graf won double digit bagel sets for 9 years – an incredible record.

Serena Williams won twenty five 6-0 sets in 2013. Kim Clijsters won eighteen 6-0 sets in 2003 and fifteen in 2005.

But with plenty of tennis left to play, Iga Swiatek has a good chance to set the record for the most bagel sets in a year.
