Adrian Andreev And Corentin Moutet Get Into A Shoving Match

The round of 16 match between Bulgarian Adrian Andreev and Frenchman Corentin Moutet was tight. Andreev won 2-6 7-6 7-6. As the players approached the net, things seemed normal. But things escalated quickly.

Andreev and Moutet shoved each other and nearly came to blows before the chair umpire rushed down from his chair to separate the two. You can check out the video here.

In his post-match press conference, Moutet said that Andreev had abused him verbally with profanities multiple times. Moutet said:

I don’t want to apologize for what happened late in the game. When a player allows himself to say ‘f*** you’ twice while looking me in the eye, I can’t help but make him understand in my own way that these are not things that are done.

Moutet’s best grand slam performance came at the 2022 US Open where he reached the fourth round. He has reached one ATP final in his career but is yet to win an ATP title.
