Zhu Lin is a late bloomer. She reached her best singles ranking of world number 58 in 2022 at age 27. In 2023, she reached the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time at the Australian Open.

Now with many tournaments moving to electronic line calling systems, Jelena Ostapenko is taking her fight against the electronic calling system. She doesn’t think it’s accurate based on her expressions on the court though.

In a post-match press conference at the Australian Open, she said that she wants the line umpires back because the court looks empty without them. At one point during her match when the electronic line calls went her way, she applauded with her racquet.
