Dutch tennis star Botic van de Zandschulp has signed up with field hockey brand The Indian Maharadja . He will wear the brand’s apparel on the court. He was previously sponsored by Lacoste. His contract with Lacoste expired at the end of 2021.
Countryman Tallon Griekspoor also started wearing The Indian Maharadja brand this year. The company is owned by LiWell B.V and was founded in 2009 in Amsterdam.
The Indian Maharadja is known for its hockey sticks, bags, and apparel. It’s interesting to see a field hockey brand branching out and sponsoring tennis players. It’s possible that the company has plans to get into the tennis market.
van de Zandschulp reached the quarterfinals at the 2021 US Open where he lost to eventual winner Daniil Medvedev.
