Jordan’s Abedallah Shelbayh became the youngest Arab player to reach an ATP Challenger final. He is also the first Jordanian to reach a Challenger final.
The 19-year-old lost the Manama Challenger final to Thanasi Kokkinakis but the youngster has a great future. Earlier in the week, Shelbayh scored his first Top 100 win by beating Australian Jason Kubler.
Abedallah Shelbayh played college tennis at the University of Florida for one season but decided to turn pro at the end of 2022. As a junior, he reached the finals at the 2021 boys’ doubles competition with Spain’s Daniel Rincón.
