Matteo Berrettini Is Coached By Fellow Italian Vincenzo Santopadre

Matteo Berrettini’s primary coach is former Italian tennis player Vincenzo Santopadre. Berrettini also works with Marco Gulisano and Umberto Rianna.

Vincenzo Santopadre is a former Italian player who reached a peak ranking of world number 103. He beat many Top 10 players in his career. Like Berrettini, Santopadre is a Rome native and their common background is a reason for their strong relationship.

Under Vincenzo Santopadre, Berrettini has made huge strides in his game. He reached the Wimbledon final in 2021  where he lost to Novak Djokovic. He has been ranked Top 10 in world rankings.

One kink in Berrettini’s game is his weak and inconsistent backhand. Though he has improved his backhand in recent years, top players are able to exploit during key moments in matches.
