Daniil Medvedev won the Shanghai Masters title with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Alexander Zverev on Sunday. It was his second consecutive Masters title after winning in Cincinnati. He also reached the grand slam final at the US Open losing to Rafael Nadal.
Medvedev has been a tear since the summer hard court season began. His 29-3 record since Wimbledon has moved him to No.4 in the world rankings behind the Big Three.
Medvedev leads the tour with 59 wins this season. Speaking of the incredible season he has had, Medvedev said, “Something clicked in my game in USA,” I don’t know why. I think it’s just the hard work that I have been doing”.
“But I started to understand even more about my game, even more I would say about my serve, about my volley, about everything, like kind of what do I have to do when?”
