Karolina Pliskova got box braids and shared pictures on social media. Pliskova, who will be skipping the Australian Open due to an elbow injury, asked fans to call her Africa.

Whether this is cultural appropriation or not, social media had a field day with many fans wondering why she got the braids.

Though Pliskova reached the world number 1 ranking in 2017, she has not won a grand slam yet despite reaching grand slam finals multiple times.

Stefan Kozlov had an impressive junior career in which he reached two junior grand slam finals. He reached a peak ITF ranking of world number 3. Kozlov is of Russian descent and is coached by his dad Andrei, who owns a tennis academy in Pembroke Pines.
